Invitation Letter


If some participants need another type of visa that does require an invitation letter, the ICWOC 2026 local arrangement committee will be glad to help.

Visa Extensions

Foreigners applying for a Chinese visa can refer to the following guidance:

█ Basic Requirements:
- The applicant is not a Chinese citizen.
- The applicant is in a foreign country and legally resides there.

█ Required Materials:

- A valid passport with at least 6 months of remaining validity and blank visa pages, along with a copy.
- One completed "Visa Application Form of the People's Republic of China", which needs to be filled out online and printed.
- One recent, front - facing, color, no hat, white - background, small 2 - inch (48mm×33mm) photo.
- If the applicant is a third - country citizen, they need to submit a valid visa, residence permit, or other proof of legal stay, residence, work, or study in the country where they are applying, along with a copy.

█ Visa Application Process:

- Prepare the visa application materials as required.
- Register and log in to the Chinese visa online application system (http://consular.mfa.gov.cn/VISA/), fill in the application form online, and submit the application materials.
- After the online preliminary review is passed, go to the embassy or consulate to submit the passport and collect biometric information (some people can be exempt from fingerprint collection).
- Pay the fee and pick up the visa as required.

█ Visa Types and Supporting Materials (Partial):

- F visa: An invitation letter issued by a relevant unit or individual in China, which should include the invitee's personal information, visit information, and the inviter's information.
- M visa: Business activity documents, trade fair invitations, etc. issued by Chinese domestic trade partners, including the invitee's personal information, visit information, and the inviter's information.
- Q1 visa (for family reunion): An invitation letter from a Chinese citizen or a foreigner with permanent residence in China, the inviter's ID or passport and permanent residence permit copy, and a family relationship certificate between the applicant and the inviter.
